FARQ - Story

Jay Gupta is a 30 year-old hitman of a Gangster Boss (Don) Peter D'souza, who just got killed in a savage attack. It was Jay's own brother Vijay, who killed Peter just 3 months ago and then presented himself to the police. Upon getting prosecuted for the murder of Peter and his 4 crime associates, Vijay is served a death sentence by the Sessions Court, South Mumbai. 

First Scene:-
Jay is walking towards a mosque to meet Maulana Kamaal because he feels that he has lost direction in his life. Though being a hindu he often goes to the mosque for offering Namaaz on fridays. But this visit is especially to meet the highly respected Maulana. The Maulana too gives Jay a lot of emotions, although Jay is not a muslim. The muslim cleric is known for his big heart as he welcomes anyone who comes for a genuine advice in the matters relating to life. 

As Jay walks inside the mosque, he looks at the Maulana who is sitting on a high pedestal, giving religious sermons to his followers. Jay occupies a sit in the last row and waits for the sermons to be over. As it ends, the Maulana, who has already watched Jay, when he entered through the main gate, waves at Jay, asking him to meet in the open front-end porch of the mosque. He is surprised that Jay, who is a regular visitor of the mosque but only on Fridays, has come to meet him though it is Sunday today. He guesses from Jay's face that this young man is in some mental conflict and hence calls him to meet in the porch. Jay understands the sign language of the Maulana and responds by walking towards the porch. Both meet there. 

Jay bows down to the Maulana. The latter says, "Allah Talla tuze salamat rakhe, zindagi ki saari khushiyan bakshe...." Jay takes a deep breath and gives a gaze at the face of the priest. 

Maulana: "Kaho kaise aana huva bete? Aap to har Jumme ko aate ho par aaj Eitvaar ke din aaye ho!! Chehre se lagta hai ki kuchh ulzan me ho, kuchh gehri soch me pad gaye ho.. kaho kya baat hai Jay bete...??" 

Jay: "Maulana saab, aap ne thik andaaza lagaya.. Waqhi mai ek gehri ulzan me pad gaya hu... Kuchh samaz nahi aa raha ki kya sahi hai kya galat....Aur sahab aap ko to malum hai ki jab bhi mai aisi ulzan me hota hu, mai aapka hi darwaza khatkhatata hu....isliye chala aaya...."

Maulana: "Ji Achchha.... Keh do jo bhi hai dil me... Bekhauf... Mai koshish karunga ki aap ki har ulzan ko dur kar dun...."

Jay: "Jannab, aap ko malum hoga ki kal subah Vijay ko faansi dene wale hai, aaj ka din uski zindagi ka aakhri din hai...." As he pauses there are a few tears in his eyes.... He sobs, takes a deep breath and then continues ahead - "Mai abhi abhi usko mil ke aa raha hu. Usko koi gam nahi ki wo suli pe chadne ja raha hai, ekdam khush hai jaise...!! Uski khushi se mujhe bhi khush hona chahiye kyoki wo mera chhota bhai hai, mere jigar ka tukda... par aaj jindagi me pehli baar mujhe uski khushi se jalan hui.
Mujhse raha nahi gaya isliye use puchh liya ----


Flashback scene starts, of the moment when Jay is visiting Vijay, his brother inside Yervada Jail. Jay is clad in jeans and t-shirt, looking handsome as usual but quite sad. Vijay is standing behind bars in white uniform of the prisoners. Vijay looks relaxed, whereas Jay looks tensed! 
Vijay, with a smile - "Kaise ho aap, bhaiya?" 
Jay - "Kaash me bol sakta ki mai thik hu, khush hu...Kaise thik ho sakta hu jab ke mera apna bhai kal faansi pe chad raha hai.." Saying this he looks at Vijay with utter sadness, almost about to cry. Vijay on the other hand is in a happy mood still. 
Vijay - "Meri maut ke baare me soch ke aap udaas ho, wo mai samajh sakta hu, bhaiya. Par mai udaas bilkul nahi hu. Balki Khush hu. Puchho kyon? Isliye kyoki kal mai milne jaa raha hu Rashmi ko, jisko uski aakhri saans tak mai bahut muhobbat karta raha aur wo mujhe bhi. To mai kyo aasu bahau?" Upon saying this, he again smiles at Jay. 
Jay - "Vijay, mere bhai.... " He looks straight into the shining eyes of Vijay...."tu kis baat se itna khush ho raha hai? Teri jindagi ka Sooraj to kal dubne jaa raha hai aur tu hai, saale, aise muskura raha hai ki jaise ki kal koi jashn manane ja raha ho..!!! Tuje kya lagta hai, in paancho ko maar ke tujhe waha pe swarg me jagah milegi? Koi bada punya ka kaam kar ke jaa raha hai kyaa tuuuuuuuuu...." While Jay finishes saying these words, his face is filled with anger towards Vijay. (He thinks Vijay should not have killed Peter and his 4 accomplice, though none of them was a good person and all 5 of them were responsible for the death of his own father, Inspector Ramprasad Gupta. He believes in this theory because he thinks that gangsters like Peter are untouchable by police and law as they have the power to buy any person, anywhere, any time.)
As Jay has presented a very wrong set of arguments to Vijay and showing a lot of anger, the former now too gets excited and angry. His eyes become red suddenly and his voice gets deep, solid and very harsh. All his features suddenly change from happy to that of a very serious looking, dangerous man. 

Vijay: "Mai is swarg aur nark me nahi maanta hai. Par ek baar pure yakeen se keh raha hu ki maine kuchh galat nahi kiya, balke ek Punya ka kaam hi kiya hai un paancho haraamzaado ko maar ke... aur mujhe us baat ka koi afsos nahi ki ab mai ek hatyara ban chuka hu...."

Jay gets very angry upon this reply from Vijay. He raises his voice almost double, "Kya bola tu, kya bola tu.. tujhe koi afsos nahi, paanch paanch aadmiyo ko maar ke... fir se bol to? Fir se boooolllllllll....."
As he says this, he gets extremely furious and looks at Vijay in a very threatening manner. 

Vijay looks back at Jay in a fearless manner. But now he is no more calm as before. He too is breathing heavily and prefers to raise his voice even higher than his elder brother, "Ha haaaaaaaaaa... Koi afsos nahi hai mujheeeeeeeee..... Suna aapne, koi afsossssss nahiiiiiiiiii haiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii........" Now he is terribly angry and he continues - "Aise bhediyo ko maar ke mujhe koi bhi afsos nahi hai, samjhe aaaaaaaaaaap..... Kyo hoga mujhe afsos? Kyo aap bhul rahe ho bhai ki yein me se 4 to wo hi kutte hai jinhone pitaji ke upar goliya chalai thi aur unko maar daala tha... aap bhi to the us din wahi par... jab in ki goliya kha kar pitaji wahi pe gir pade the zameen pe, khoon se lathpath....aur aap bol rahe hai ki mai inko maar ke afsos manau?"
He still continues ahead in a very strong voice now - "Mai to bahut khush hu.. Kyo ki un logo ko maine maar diya jinko koi maar nahi sakta tha. Is prithvi ko in rakshason se mukti dila di. Na jaane pitaji jaise kitne aur masoomo ko in logo ne maar daala hoga. Ye log bahot bure the, anishth the, asatya ke saath the... Bhagvad Geeta me Bhagwaan Krishan ne bahut saaf shabdo me bola hai ki hatyaro ki hatya karne me, galat logo ko is duniya se hatane me - koi gunah nahi bantaa.. Ye paap nahi punya hi hai. Galat logo ko, garibo aur laacharo pe zulm dhaane walo ke upar zulm karna yakinan punya ka kaam hi hai...Duniya ki nazro me mai shayad 5 logo ka hatyara hu. Par khud ki nazro me, mai ek Naayak hu, kyo ki maine wo kaam kar dikhaya jisko karne ki koi himmat hi nahi kar sakta tha. Maine Peter ko maar daala... Don Peter ko... Jisse ye pura shehar thar thar kaapta tha....Jisne aginat logo ko chitiyo ki tarah masal ke rakh diya tha...Maine usi ko usi ki style se kutte ki maut maar diya....Koi vajah nahi ki mai Khush naa rahu, samjhe??"

Jay: "Chupppppp... chuppppppp.... Chuppppppp..... Badtameeeezzzzz Chup ho jaa tu saaaaaleeeee.....Dekh raha hu ki teri himmat bahut badh gayi hai. Par ye mat bhul ki aaj bhi mai tera Bada bhai hu. Aawaz nichi rakh aur itne guroor me mat baat kar, samjha?? Tu apne aap ko koi hero, koi naayak samajhta hoga par sachchai ye hai ki tu ek hatyara hai. Kya kya sapne dekhe the maine tere liye? Ki apna bhai itna padh likh liya hai to aage ja ke ek bahut bada aadmi banayega.... Khub saari Izzat shohrat, bahut saara paisa kamaayega.... par tune wo kuchh nahi kamaaya - na izzat, na shohrat, na paisa... aur aaj tu in salaakho ke pichhe khada hai ek mujhrim, jisko kal faansi hone wali hai...arre, sharm aani chahiye tujhe to.... ki tu mere sapno me khara nahi utar saka.. ek khota sikka nikla re tu to... sharm aani chahiye tujhe... sharrmmmmmmmm....."

Vijay replies back in an equally strong tone - "Sharm mujhe nahi aap ko aani chahiye ki Hamare baap ke hatyare Peter ke aap talve chant te rahe zindagi bhar, un chand paiso ki khatir, us juthi ijjat ki khaatir aapne to apna imaan bhi bech daala, Peter ko!!!! Sharm aap ko aani chahiye, samjhe aap?????"

As Vijay says this in a very strong but calm manner, Jay goes totally out of control due to anger. He hits the bars of the prison cell with his hands thrice in a very deadly manner. Blood starts coming out of it. He then looks at Vijay and says, "Pura pagal ho chuka hai tu. Pura paggggggallll.... Lekin aaj tu is had tak jaa chuka hai to ab tu bhi sun. Sun le aaj tu mere muh se - Maine Peter ke vaha kaam isliye kiya kyo ki pitaji ne kabhi bhi mera saath nahi diya. Puri zindagi bhi wo sirf tumhari baat mante rahe, jab ki mujhe sab ke saamne har vakht unhone zaleel kiya...Kya meri har baat juthi aur bekaar huva karti thi? Kya mai itna gaya guzra insaan tha? Bilkul nahi. Lekin mere apne baap ne mujhe kabhi apna beta maana hi nahi. Isliye us raat ko mai ghar se chala gaya tha - hamesha ke liye jab mere pe chori ka galat ilzaam laga tha par pitaji ek alfaaz nahi bole the jab pulis mujhe lene ko aayi thi tab....Tab meri zamaanat Peter ne karvai, mujhe nai zindagi dene wala Peter hi tha, us vakht jab mera apna koi mere pichhe khada rehne ki himmat nahi juta paya tha....Usi ehsaan ka badla chukane ke liye mai Peter ki gang me shaamil huva aur uske bahut nazdik aa gaya....Aur usi ki badaulat maine itni saari daulat kama li, itni saari izzat kama li.. meri property, mera bank balance tere se dus guna hai aaj ki taarikh me... aur tere paas kya hai aaj? Dekh le aayne me. Aaj tu khada hai is chhoti si jail me ek qaidi ban kar, apni maut ke thik saamne... Duniya tujhe 5 logo ka hatyara maan chuki hai aur aane wali saadiyo tak tujhe log isi naam se yaad karenge. Jab ki maine tere se bis guna jyada logo ko maut ke ghat utara hai... par fir bhi duniya mujhe izzat de rahi hai, paisa de rahi hai, shohrat ki bulandiyo ko chhu raha hu mai... Aaj ki taarikh me mere saamne teri koi aukat hi nahi rahi... Tu ek ghatiya mujhrim ban ke reh gaya hu, jab ki mai ek kamyaab businessman hu....." Saying these words, Jay gives a big smile back to Vijay, for the first time. 

Vijay now smiles back to Jay, in retort. The satire in his smile is self-evident. He replies, "Businessman? Arre wah, bade bhai, itne bade businessman ho aap wo to aaj pata chala!! Kis cheez ka business karte ho aap, maut ka kaarobaar? Charas gaanja, afeem, ladkiya - in sabhi cheezo ko bech kar apne aap ko businessman bol rahe ho? Wah bade bhaiya, wah... kitna gir chuke ho tum... Ek baar akele me apne aap ko aahista se puchhna ki mai kaun hu - andar se aawaz aayegi ki tum ek businessman nahi ek bure aadmi ho. Ek aur sawaal puchhna ki kaun sahi hai - Vijay Gupta ya mai? Andar se aawaz aayegi wo hi sahi aawaz hogi, mere bhai..."

Jay wants to give a reply to this but suddenly the Jail Officer shouts, "aapki mulaqat ka vaqt khatam ho gaya hai sahab....aap chaliye ab mere saath..." As Jay starts walking alongwith the officer, he could feel the utter confidence and total strength on the face of Vijay. He could feel, for the first time in his life, that perhaps it is Vijay who is victorious and he himself is a big, big loser!! So upon returning back to his lavish apartment, he directly enters his bedroom and jumps on the bed. Immediately, he starts thinking, "Who is right - Vijay or myself?" He thinks that the answer would be "Of course, you win, Jay!!" But instead, a very shocking answer comes out from his mind - "Vijay is correct. You are wrong. Yes, you are totally wronggggggg!!! Shame on you, shame on how you have been thinking all these years. SHAME....." He suddenly gets out of his bed for the first time starts thinking again in the same direction. Again, the same echo comes back from his mind - "Jay Gupta, you are wrong.. veryyy Wronggg.. You are a gangster, a criminal, a disgusting human....Shame on youuuuuuu....." Jay realizes that he has definitely done something very wrong. He is now in a melancholous mood and decides to go to the mosque and meet Maulana Kalaam. 
(Flashback scene over) 
Back to the talk between Jay and Maulana. As Jay ends his description of his entire conversation with Vijay, Maulana looks at him in a quiet but meaningful manner. Then he replies "Aap dono ke bich me kaun galat hai aur aap dono ke bich ke sochne ke dhang me kya farq hai uska jawab mai yakinan dunga.. Par iske liye mujhe aapke khandaan ki puri kahani sun ni hai, wo bhi tumhari zabaan se, Jay bete...."

Jay: "Thik hai Maulana sahab... Baat un dino ki hai jab mai aur Vijay dono chhote the..... "

The story goes into a huge Flashback now...... 


Inspector Ramprasad is a very honest Police officer. He lives in a middle-class society inside a suburb of Mumbai along with his two sons, Jay and Vijay. The younger one is Vijay, whom he never likes too much due to several reasons.

Screenplay for the Song Yaado ka Safar

Yaado ka Safar

-----------------------

The song starts with the theme music piece of 50 seconds. It starts with a thumping, bubbly voice and then has 5 lines of piano music. 

Location 1:

Either (a) A plain grass field, surrounded by beautiful mountains on all sides or (b) a huge garden with a lot of greenery, surrounded by mountains on all sides. 

Details:-

From the start till the end of line of 1 of the theme music - The camera will start from a distant mountain or a very good looking natural scene (duration 30 seconds) and then rotate, without losing continuity and focus on ML (Male Lead, Sanket), for 3 seconds. The ML is dressed informally but not in any pompy style. He is wearing a white shirt (as white as possible and with a bit of shine too) and a casual blue jeans pant. His clothes don't look very costly but at the same time they look very decent, attractive and definitely not cheap. His appearance creates an impression of a very young lad in his early twenties (20-21-22), full of life and energy, optimistic about his future and rather less burdened about anything that can influence him. He looks very confident but at the same time balanced too (in short he looks natural - neither over-confident nor less confident). He is sitting on a bench (presumably) or a huge rock, with a blue guitar in his hands. (Kindly Sanket, remind me of taking my blue guitar along with myself, when we are on our way to Kashmir, for the Shoot). The strap of the guitar is black and he has strapped himself into the guitar. He looks to be in a pensive (thoughtful) yet delight mood as he embarks on a short journey of remembering (यादों का सफर) his beloved the FL (Female Lead) Yukta. The description is given here only in order to acquaint the artists and the camera crew. Else as mentioned above, the scene will not last for more than 3 seconds. Total time till now = 4 seconds. 

NB: The entire video is of 4:12 minutes, i.e 252 seconds. In order to attain high quality, all of us should ascertain that not even a single second of the Shot content exhibits wastage or lowering of quality. The focus must be maintained all the time. 

After 4 seconds:-

The camera moves into one of the eyes of Sanket (time given - half a second - to move from about 3-4 meter from him, where it was there originally in the beginning of this shot) and comes out from one of the eyes of Yukta. In short, this duration of total 2 shots taken at 1 location, described so far, is 4:30 seconds.


Location 2:

The balcony of a hotel room, decent looking, with a couple of pots of small plants with flowers on them, parched on both sides of the pillar, on which she has kept her left/right hand while standing there. She is looking straight (neither up nor down) and looks to be in a pensive mood too. She is informally dressed too (The story says she is in her own home, her own private room, though we might be shooting this inside a hotel room. We might try and hire a very decent, posh 2 BHK residence, for 1 day somewhere in Pahalgam or Sonmarg, if we can, so that it looks completely like a room of some home). For that I will move to Pahalgam 3 days before the Shoot date and search for such a rented residence. If Yukta, can remind me of this, it would be nice. 

Shot no.3 :

The camera which had entered (zoomed into) one of the eyes of Sanket, at the end of the 2nd shot above, comes out from one of the eyes of Yukta in the beginning of the 3rd shot. As mentioned above, she is standing in the balcony of her home, looking straight (horizontal, parallel to the ground). She looks to be in a pensive mood. Yukta, the 1st impression is the last impression and this will be your 1st shot so the impression which you create should be marvellous. You should leave the viewers spell-bound by your beauty. Here is my description of how you should look here:- 

Face - No extra makeup as you look much better with little or no makeup. Eyes should have that काजल but the eyelashes should never be red (as what you have put in one of your instagram photos recently). Red eyelashes look horrible on any girl. Eyebrows should be blackened. You look better without a बिंदिया so no बिंदी. Your hair MUST LOOK BLACK. I don't like blonde hair, especially when we are depicting an "indian girl" who is in love with an indian boy. Blonde hair is for western culture, not India. (It can look good if we are depicting a modernized female. But our story plot is of a सीधी सादी भारतीय लड़की, with indian values. So here black hair is preferable).

I strongly advice you to look into all your instagram photos and see earmark all those where I have made a comment of the type "Yes, like this" or "This dress" or "This look" or "Wow" or "You look beautiful here" or "Your best photo on Instagram". I need you to go through all the photos and search for my comments on them bcoz even at the time of commenting on them, what I had in mind was "how this particular look would fit into my song". So I need atleast that much preparation from your end, Yukta, so that you have a clear idea about how I want you to look in this video song. It may happen that your choice about your look may vary from my choice, but I request you seriously to focus on my choice here, because my choice will exactly reflect and later show to the audience, that very girl, which I want to be inside my song. If the looks will change from what I choose, it will be a pure disaster because a different look of a leading character definitely conveys a different message from what was originally intended. So, please focus on what I choose. (Later, after the shoot is over, you can immediately throw away the black hair look switch ON to blonde hair look once again 😀😀 I won't mind at all, if you get converted into a foreign girl in no time at all...😊😊)

Her nails are neat, a bit long and polished in red or pink. Please don't apply green, yellow or black nail polish. It looks weird if we are shooting a teenage girl who is in love.)

Yukta's dress will be informal, as already mentioned. She is wearing a pink/ blue/ white punjabi dress (kurta pyjama). There are 2 bangles in her both hands. Both of them are golden /golden colored. She wears a small ring in the middle finger of her right hand. Even her toe nails are polished. The color of the polish matches with her finger nails. 

She is standing in the balcony, looking straight, as the camera zooms out of her left eye. She looks thoughtful. She is standing there in her balcony, with one of her hand put on the railing of the balcony pillar, whilst another hanging loose. The camera zooms out of her left eye and moves about 3 to 4 meters in front of her. Mr.Jayesh, here we would need a flying camera (drone-camera) which can remain stable in air while taking a shot. The camera should not move sideways and remain still. The motto of this shot is to emphasize on the beauty and charm of the girl. So it's upto you, how you decide to do it, but as said above, try and make the girl very beautiful in this shot. The camera zooms out of the girl's left and moves 3 to 4 meter in front of her. This happens in half a second (0:30 second). Then it stays there for 2 seconds, facing the girl who is looking straight into it. The girl is neither smiling nor sad. But, she is in a thinking mode. Yukta's face should be like - she is in a thinking mode, but not too serious either. Total shot length = 0.30+2 =2.30 seconds. 

Total time gone till now = 4.30+2.30 = 7 seconds.

Till this time, the 1st line of the theme music is over. 

4th Shot:

Location: A small road equally bifurcated in the middle. Ideally it would be the road/ pavement that leads to the main building of the Taj Mahal, but if we decide not to shoot in Agra as well, then we will find a road in Pahalgam / Sonmarg / Gulmarg which matches the one described above. A small road inside a garden will do. There are trees/bushes/shrubs with flowers planted on both sides of the road. Some sparrows/other birds are pleasantly flying across the garden. A cool breeze is blowing. The skies are clear. In short, the atmosphere is intoxicating (नशा चढ़ जाए ऐसा) It looks heavenly. 

The ML and the FL are walking on that road, very close to each other. Whilst walking, the girl  rests her head on the chest of the boy as her feet keep her moving forward. The boy has encircled his black jacket around his and the girl's head, while he keeps moving forward, looking at the girl, who has her head rested on his chest. (The scene reminds of Ashiqui of 1990, where the hero & heroine have such a shot). They keep walking for 7 seconds, until the 2nd line of the theme music is not over. In short, the 2nd line of the theme music will be shot in this manner. 

4th Shot duration: 7 seconds

Total Time elapsed till now: 14 seconds.

5th Shot:

Location - same as Shot no.4

This happens in the 3rd line of the Theme music. The girl and the boy are standing face to face, on the paved small road, described above in Shot 4. The girl puts her right hand on the left cheek of the boy, smiles at him and then looks at him as if she is lost in him. Her immense love for him is seen in her eyes. She doesn't speak a single word but her eyes tell a lot. They tell the boy, "Don't u ever leave me, please." This scene is a test for Yukta's acting skills. If she can act in these few seconds and convey the message indirectly to the audience, without uttering a single word, it will definitely create a magical effect on them. But if she fails, well then, only God knows what will happen. I am very eager to see that Yukta succeeds in her attempt above. It's a challenge for a new actress but huge success comes only after meeting huge challenges. So let's see how well you can act in this scene, Yukta! I suggest you should start practising in front of the mirror for this scene from today because as mentioned earlier it's not an easy scene. If you think ke last minute me dekh lenge to ye bhi ho sakta hai ki tum isko thik tarike se na kar sako. So start practising from today. 

During this scene, both are looking at each other straight into each other's eyes, face to face but the camera's focus is on the girl. In these 7 seconds, the girl puts her right hand on the left cheek of the boy as said before and both look at each other, straight into the eyes. The camera first shows both standing face to face (half a second), then the girl putting her hand on the boy's cheek (1 second). Then it shows the  face of the boy who has become emotional due to this action of the girl (1.5 seconds). Then it shows the girl's face who, as mentioned above, has completely lost herself into her lover, gone very emotional as if her heart is pumping fast, and she conveys her very warm abd very true affections for the boy via her looks. The camera will remain on the girl for 4 seconds full, which gives her a chance to show her acting talent, through her eyes, as described above. This scene has the potential to create magic if properly done. 

Total scene duration = 7 seconds. 

Total time lapsed till now = 21 seconds.
