He told her, "Don't Neglect me

As I am Perfect for you."

She answered, "Look I used to Suspect you

But now I don't. Yet still I don't Detect a single reason

As to why I should Select you!!

I agree there is no Defect in you

But I can't find any Subject common between us."

He replied, "I Respect your opinion, lady.

But you need to Introspect in this regard, please.

As I find not just one Object but many, that are common.

Before I Project myself in front of this world

Like a guy that can make a sizable Impact,

You need to decide about the combined Effect that we can make!"

She answered, "Can you Protect me wherever needed?"

He said confidently, "Yes,

I can do that in every Aspect wherever you go!!"

The Midnight Romance

The romance between the cat and the moon!!

The cat looked at the moon
The moon looked back at her
Both fell in love soon
There remained nothing to differ.

She asked the moon one day,
"Where are all the mice?
Tell me, my love, as you are over there
Observing everything below before every sun-rise.

You sit there and watch whole night
What happens in all the nook and corner of this place,
I would love you even more if you help me Mr. White
To satiate my hunger, so please show some grace."

The moon replied with cool conviction,
"Look, my charming lady, I would have loved to help
But, I can't as I have to follow the rules of Benediction
So I suggest that you don't need to yelp.

May it be a cow, a lion or a mighty elephant
By themselves have all, to find their food
So do not expect any help and be eminent
Go, find your prey as daily you would."

The feline creature looked in dismay for a while,
As she thought about what the moon just said,
But then she felt he was still friendly and not hostile
And advanced into the streets to find her bread.

Not before long she saw a big, mischievous mouse,
Jumping here and there with no fear at all,
As if all the cats in the world had disappeared along with their spouse!!
She got interested, drew closer and slowed her crawl.

Then she pounced on him as he came very near
Put him in her mouth as he squeaked along
Aha!! She had finally something to cheer
As now there was food which she could enjoy all day long!

As she jumped on a tree-branch with a strong heave
Her mind got occupied with what the moon had told before,
The rodent was dead and there was nobody else to deceive
Now she could sit and eat whole night, with all her decor.

With nothing more to explore, she thought about the moon's advice
"Ah!" - She spoke to herself, "He was so right!!
For had he not asked me to search for the prey myself twice
It would have become a habit for me to rely on someone else's insight."

The Squirrel and Me

This poem is based on a true event that occurred in my life. 

It was an hour before sunset and I was feeling free

As I stood at my window watching the huge fine tree.

Suddenly my eyes caught a squirrel on the ground

With a nut in its hands, it was enjoying on a small mound.

I kept watching the playful animal, running here and there

The fun was limitless as I forgot the universe during my stare

She was so frolicsome, carefree and full of life

The pleasure was immense as I forgot all the strife.

She jumped among the branches of the tree

Unstoppable in its juvenile spirit and all that spree

Suddenly then she climbed the trunk and went right on top

Where she looked around and had a minor stop.  

She closed her eyes as if she was going to sleep

Her posture was silent like a brilliant elite

As she fell asleep, I enjoyed her cute innocent look

She was motionless in the nap that she took.

Then from nowhere did a kite come flying upon

It caught the squirrel in its claws, giving no time to respond

But as it flew back into the skies the rodent slipped down

And came straight towards the same grassy mound.

For a moment it lied there unconscious

An ugly thought struck me as I became cautious

I descended down the stairs of my apartment

Took the squirrel and brought it to my basement.

A sprinkle of water and Ah! it opened its eyes

The cute little thing looked at me with a lot of surprise!!

She did not run, as if she wanted to stay with me forever

For reasons that my soul understood but mind didn’t whatever!

I took her with me to my home and we became great friends

During my leisure hours she played around my face with both her lovely hands

Then one day she disappeared and never came back

I understood it was time to depart though our friendship remained intact.
